" Working in Training "
Working in Training EXCLUSIVE to C.E.Dressage Members only.
After much discussion within the C.E.D.G Team we felt that we had something to help riders have a more enjoyable day.
Many riders have expressed comments relating to working their horse in at competitions. Some feel they are intimidated by other riders who seem to know what they are doing, some feel that they just "loose the plot" when it comes to riding at competitions, or some just want a confidence boost.
This is where help is at hand through the working in training. Open to members only, working in training is to help relax, focus and relieve yourself of the tension caused by competing before the test so when you get to entering the boards you are able to confidently perform your test and most of all enjoy yourself.
Training will not be commands bellowed across the collecting ring but discretely through a radio and ear piece between trainer and rider.
Pre booked only with your dressage entries riding in training is £10 for the first test £5 for any other test on the same day.
" Test Riding Days "
Dates are set aside for members to take part in test riding days.
Test Riding Days consist of working through a specific test or level of test to help iron out minor details which loose you marks in competition situations.
Riders are encouraged to how it looks from "C", discuss and work through areas to improve accuracy, fluency and those all important marks.
Riders are able to take away a test sheet and the information to be able to ride confidently forward when the bell is rung.
Test Riding Days are ideal before a big competition or Championship, if you feel you are "stuck" when it comes to moving up to the next level or if you a planing your first dressage competition.
Members receive £3 from the £25 per rider entry fee.
" Clinics and Training "
enclosed within your Calendar are monthly Clinic and Training dates.
Sessions consist of one hour private lesson working on improving your horses way of going and rider position and effectiveness.
Riders are able to work over many issues not just those that will help improve marks in a test, encouragement is given to develop the feel of the horse when going correctly and develop and understanding of the "Scales of Training".
Please don't be put off with technical words its just a matter of improving your knowledge and ability to be more " user friendly" toward your horse to ensure a long and happy partnership.
Clinic / Training sessions are available to members with a £5 reduction on £25.
All dates are held at Birch Laithes Farm, thanks to Richard Hoyland, however with prior arrangement 45 minute private or semi private lessons are available in the competition arena at Middleton Park Equestrian Centre on competition days.
45 minute training - private - £25 semi private £20 each.

Through these events members are invited to bring a guest to a training event at members fee.

" Become C.E Dressage Group Champion "
Each year members battle it out to become the Champion.
Junior riders contest to win the Introductory and Preliminary Level Championship 2008 with Senior riders contesting from Introductory Level to Elementary Level.
Riders crowned the C.E Dressage Champion on Sunday 26th October will be presented with a rug at the Awards Ceremony and Party Night, Friday 28th November, along with the rosettes and prizes offered at the Championship Competition.
Don't panic -- if you haven't been in a Championship situation before, the competitions are basically the same as any other C.E Dressage competition.
These are the only changes -
At each level there is a "normal" class which will run prior to the Championship class, this can be used as a warm up/practise run before your championship test at your discretion. With the exception of the test at Introductory Level the warm up test will be of a lower number than that of the Championship test ( for example - warm up p1 championship p18)from Preliminary Level to Elementary.
This is not because we are been mean - it is to show that the horse and rider which are crowned Champion are capable of doing work to the higher end of their level.
Tests in the championships must be ridden from memory. commanders are allowed in all other tests.
Whips are not allowed in the championship tests but are in all other tests.
As all the Championship tests are Sponsored by local companies or individuals some advertising may be in the arena but not so the horses will be distracted.
To add to the championship atmosphere C.E Dressage will be inviting two judges to judge all the Championship tests. The usual judge at "C" with another to the right of "A".
" Information and Advice "
Regular help and advice will be offered within monthly updates.
How to improve your tests, the working in, work at home, understanding the technical terms, how to identify your 5,6 or 7 marks.
You are also encouraged to ask !!!
